Oh you need a better reason…okay, well how about this: Twitter is fast becoming one of the most useful tools for self-marketing and brand promotion today. Furthermore it hasn’t yet accumulated the high membership count that other social media tools can boast, thereby making it an elite group of savvy techies.
Let me tell you a little bit about my experiences with Twitter. When I first signed up I was confused by the logistics of the layout. It took me a while to figure out, but now it’s an addictive pleasure to navigate. Heres the scoop, you are allowed 140 characters to update your profile, to which everyone can see. If you want to add people to follow you can search through your email account (however you probably won’t find many people that way), or you can use the “find people” option. This may not be the easiest way to find people you know since most people do not use their real names as their username. So how do you add people to follow? Easy! Start adding famous people, organizations, and maybe the 1 or 2 people you managed to get from your email account. Now, start searching through their follow lists and add people/organizations you think would be interesting to follow. Never fear, sooner than later most of those people will start to follow you as well!
